First Half
In a duel between European coaches, representing Vanuatu was German coach Lars Hopp, while representing the Solomon Islands was English coach Ben Cahn. The Englishman was in better form, having even managed to be the only team to beat Auckland FC so far in the tournament. However, it was Vanuatu United who took the lead, with American Cardona opening the scoring in the 29th minute.
Second Half
The second half began with Vanuatu opening the scoring again, with striker Kaltfer Kaltack netting their second goal and extending their lead to 2-0. This was a very tough defeat for Solomon Kings, who had hoped to take second place in the standings, overtaking South Melbourne and leaving them just 2 points behind league leaders Auckland FC.
Standings and next round
The Vanuatu team has resurfaced in the standings and now has the same number of points as fourth-placed South Island United, the first team in the qualifying zone. Saniel and Tasip's men will now face PNG Hekari United on the 28th, while third-placed Solomon Kings will also face Bula FC on the 28th.
