Venue: National Stadium, Honiara(Solomon Islands)
Attendance: 7k
Date & Time: 3/14/2026
Goals: Burns(87')
First Half
The only team to defeat Auckland FC this season, Solomon Kings had the support of thousands of fans at Honiara Stadium to see if the team could repeat the feat now playing at home. The initial stages of the match were dominated by the home team, managed by English coach Ben Cahn, who, with the support and pressure of the crowd, imposed their rhythm and left counter-attacks to the New Zealand team. However, the most dangerous chance of the first half was a shot by Ellis that went just wide of the home goalkeeper's post.
Second Half
The tournament leaders' performance improved in the second half, with Auckland FC's B team managing to impose themselves more on the game both with and without the ball, but clear goalscoring opportunities remained rare. Emiliano Tade almost scored just over five minutes after the break when his free-kick from the right went over everyone, including goalkeeper Petua, but hit the crossbar with force. However, it was at the end of the game, almost in the 90th minute, that Aston Burns scored the winning goal for the visitors.
Standings and next round
The tournament leaders, 4 points ahead of the runner-up, now face Vanuatu United on March 18, while the home team in this Circuit 4, which remains in the playoff zone despite the defeat, faces South Melbourne on the 19th.
