First Half
The first half began with the jewel of French football and new hope of the new generation of Polynesians, Degrumelle, opening the scoring in the 16th minute and putting even more pressure on the Papua New Guinea team, while Tahiti United dreamed of a place in the qualifying zone.
Second Half
The second half began with a lightning-fast goal from Polynesian prospect Manaurii Shan, seemingly securing a victory against the tournament's bottom-placed team. However, it wasn't long before another promising Oceania footballer, Joseph Joe, who had scored in PNG Hekari's first victory of the tournament, pulled one back to make it 1-2, but that was the final score.
Standings and next round
Even though they are second-to-last in the standings, Tahti United are just one point away from the qualifying zone and will now return to the field against South Melbourne in a match that has also been postponed but without a set date, while PNG Hekari will return to the field on March 14 against South Island in Honiara, Solomon Islands.
