First Half


The match started evenly but with a clear technical dominance from the Australian team. However, it was South Island United who scored an own goal through Giannakopoulos in the 21st minute, but it didn't last long. In the 25th minute, the Japanese player Uchida equalized, and Jankovic, less than 10 minutes later, had already turned the game around for Sinisa Cohadzic's team.


Second Half


The rookie team from New Zealand even tried to mount a comeback to equalize, with Welsh coach Rob Sherman pushing his team to find the equalizing goal, but in the 73rd minute, Lackay delivered the coup de grâce to make it 3-1, and striker Swibel sealed the victory and rout in the 87th minute.


Standings and next round


The tournament's runner-up, just 1 point behind third place, now faces Tahiti United in a match with no date set, postponed due to rain. Meanwhile, South Island United, in the last qualifying spot for the next phase with 9 points and ahead only on goal difference of Vanuatu United, will face league leaders Auckland FC in the next round, also with no date set because it was postponed due to rain.
