First Half


The match involving the home team in Circuit 2 in Port Moresby drew a great crowd and there was high expectation for the first victory for the Papua New Guinea team, but it was Vanuatu United player Kalfter Kaltack who opened the scoring after just 12 minutes, and almost 30 minutes in, the home team equalized with a penalty converted by Joseph Joe.


Second Half


The second half began with great excitement, with Erick Joe scoring the winning goal in the 57th minute and sending the Port Moresby stands into raptures. This celebratory excitement continued until the end of the game, when Erick Joe was sent off and Owen Smith scored the equalizer from the penalty spot.

The OFC Champions League champions remain at the bottom of the table without a win and face South Island United on February 7th, while the Vanuatu team is 1 point away from the playoff zone and faces South Melbourne on February 4th.
