In a thrilling Matchday 15 encounter, Perth Glory drew at home against Auckland FC today (31) at HBF Park. The New Zealand team entered with slight favoritism even playing away from home, while the Australians were looking for a place in the Finals Series.

First Half


The first half began with pressure on the home team, who were outside the Finals Series zone, and boasted a formidable attacking duo in Taggart and Lawrence. Auckland FC, with a strong and experienced defense, lost Pijnaker in the 27th minute, and heading into halftime with the score tied, saw Jesse Randall, already sold to Scottish football, open the scoring with an assist from Uruguayan Guillermo May.


Second Half


A second half with a substitution right at halftime by coach Adam Griffiths, bringing on Colakovski in place of Ostler, passed just over 10 minutes and the hero of the night came off the Perth Glory bench, the young Sydney academy graduate, Jayden Kucharski, it didn't take long and he already scored in the 75th minute and when it seemed like it would be a draw, he scored again, this time with an assist from Colakovski.


Standings and next round


The New Zealand team continues its fight for the regular season title and faces Sydney FC at home on February 7th, while Adam Taggart's team is battling for a playoff spot and faces Macarthur away on February 6th.
