First Half
The first half was expected to be fairly balanced, with the two technically best teams from the first phase facing off at Vaivase-Tai, but it was the 16-year-old teenager Kima Webb who opened the scoring for Tupapa Maraerenga, much to the dismay of the home crowd.
Second Half
A sleepy second half from the Cook Islands team, mostly focused on managing the result and showing little competitiveness, coupled with the weak offensive play of their American Samoa rivals, led to veteran Cook Islands player Grover Harmon sealing the victory.
