In the opening match of Oceania's new professional club league, the Vanuatu and Fiji teams, founded in 2025, could only manage a draw.

The team coached by former Fiji national team manager Stephane Auvray entered the match with a slight advantage, partly due to having more experienced players in their squad and, of course, having brought back Fiji's best active player, Roy Krishna.
The first half began with German coach Lars Hopp asking Vanuatu United to press more, and it worked to some extent because after 20 minutes Vanuatu national team player Alex Saniel opened the scoring, but it didn't last long, as Fijian star Krishna equalized.
The second half started more balanced, with the teams taking turns having the best chances, and only in the 70th minute did the Fijian prospect, Nabil Begg, who was playing for Auckland City, turn the game around for Bula FC, but in the dying moments, the American Cardona equalized.
The teams that were founded in 2025 are still in the tactical and technical structuring phase, but it seems that the Bula FC team is a step above Vanuatu United.
