Ryan Edwards' team entered this match with a slight advantage over Western Suburbs, but both teams were in the middle of the table.
The first half was almost perfect for the Japanese team Osawa, who opened the scoring after just 9 minutes and added another goal before halftime, with young Cole scoring the third.
The second half was more controlled by Christchurch, who allowed their opponents more possession. In the 65th minute, they pulled one back through Diamond, but it didn't change the game's overall outcome.
Christchurch, now 4 points away from a Grand Final spot, is seeing its chances of qualifying increase, even though it's not one of the favorites for the final, while Western Suburbs is unlikely to finish higher than mid-table.
