Luke Casserly has been doing a very good job leading the Auckland FC reserves, even having a "reinforcement" coming from the first team to decide a game against the runner-up in the championship and not going into the game as a favorite.
The first half began with a lightning-fast goal from the excellent player Bouzoukis just 3 minutes in, and Wellington's team controlled the rest of the first half.
With their young players more inspired, the Auckland team started with an early goal in the 55th minute, tying the game. In a much more balanced second half, the Casserly team prevailed at the end of the match with a goal from promising striker Rutherford.
Paul Ifill's team underperformed in the second half and missed the chance to take the lead in the tournament, while the young Auckland players are just 3 points away from a spot in the Grand Final.
